Take the Green Challenge


Please help us reduce our town's carbon footprint! Broad participation from citizens like you is key to achieving significant reductions in Chatham Township's greenhouse gas emissions. The Chatham Township Green Team's goal is to have 500 Chatham Township households take the Green Challenge.
 
Review the actions below and select those that are appropriate for your household (approximate yearly reductions in pounds of CO2 emissions that should result from the action are listed at the right in bold). Please indicate your selected actions by checking the box next to the action.

 
Reduce the number of miles you drive by 20 miles per week. 500
 
Drive more efficiently (avoid sudden acceleration and stops, don't carry extra weight in car, use your most efficient car). 1000
 
Don't idle (turn engine off when stopped for more than 30 seconds). 500
 
Set air conditioning at 74° or higher and heat at 66° or lower. 2700
 
Wash your clothes in cold water instead of hot. 400
